On May 8, Kamiya took to his YouTube channel to respond to fan queries about remakes and sequels. When posed with the question of what he would do for a DMC remake, he enthusiastically responded, "A remake like that, well, I would like to do that."

Originally launched in 2001, Devil May Cry was initially conceived as Resident Evil 4. However, its development veered significantly from its initial concept, leading Capcom to birth the DMC franchise instead.
As we approach the 25th anniversary of its release, Kamiya reflected on the game's origins. He shared that in 2000, following a significant breakup, he channeled his emotional turmoil into creating DMC. This personal experience fueled the game's passionate intensity.
Kamiya admitted that he rarely revisits his completed games, including DMC. Yet, when he occasionally encounters gameplay clips, he's reminded of the game's age and its classic design elements. While the idea isn't at the forefront of his mind, Kamiya's creativity sparks only when projects become tangible. He confidently stated, "But if the time comes— I’ll come up with something. That’s what I do." Besides DMC, Kamiya also expressed interest in remaking Viewtiful Joe.
