In a recent interview with Famitsu on April 24, Sucker Punch unveiled exciting new details about their upcoming standalone sequel to the Ghost series. Ghost of Yotei enhances the beloved gameplay and narrative of the critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima.

Creative Director Jason Cornell highlighted that the game offers players the most freedom in gameplay and the largest maps the studio has ever crafted. Instead of a linear approach, players are encouraged to discover the locations of the Yotei Six independently and embark on a personal quest for vengeance.

Fox emphasized that while the sword remains central to the game, players can learn to use other weapons from various masters encountered throughout the story and open world. He also noted that Atsu, not bound by the samurai code, can freely utilize any weapon available, including those dropped by defeated enemies, to adapt her fighting style dynamically.

Sucker Punch's team visited Hokkaido, engaging with local museums and cultural experts to ensure an authentic representation. Cornell was inspired by Hokkaido's stunning landscapes, motivating the team to recreate this setting for a global audience.
