'Gen V' Star Won't Fight Homelander in 'The Boys'

With Gen V Season 2 wrapped up, fans are curious how the immensely powerful Marie would stack up against The Boys' chief villain Homelander. According to showrunner Eric Kripke, however, don't count on Marie showing up in The Boys Season 5 as a Captain Marvel-style deus ex machina who easily defeats Homelander.

The reason is that Marie hasn't fully mastered her abilities yet—or as Kripke explained in several Gen V Season 2 finale interviews, she isn’t “Neo at the end of The Matrix.”
