Lost Soul Aside Delayed 3 Months for Polish on PS5 and PC

by Savannah May 18,2025

Lost Soul Aside, the highly anticipated action game for PC and PlayStation 5, has been delayed by three months, moving its release from May 30 to August 29, 2025. This news comes from developer Ultizero Games, who initially planned to launch the game next month after nearly a decade of development.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally, Lost Soul Aside was the passion project of solo developer Yang Bing. It has since evolved into a significant title under Sony's China Hero Project, with Bing now serving as the founder and CEO of Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games.

In a recent interview with IGN, Yang Bing reflected on the game's long development journey. From its beginnings as a solo project to its reveal at Sony's State of Play broadcast, Lost Soul Aside has garnered significant attention. Fans and critics alike have praised the game for its blend of Final Fantasy-esque characters and Devil May Cry-style combat, a buzz that started with Bing's initial reveal video going viral back in 2016.

The game's protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles dynamically. Accompanying Kesar is Arena, a dragon-like companion capable of summoning abilities to aid in battles.

Drawing inspiration from its predecessors, Lost Soul Aside focuses on aerial dodging, precision timing, combos, and countering, all while featuring epic boss fights. The game's narrative weaves a sci-fi tale across multiple dimensions, blending contemporary aesthetics. Although the full scope of the story remains under wraps, Bing describes Kesar's journey as one of "redemption and discovery."
