Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has set a new benchmark as Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold within just three days of its launch. Capcom officially announced this milestone on their website, marking a historic achievement for the company.

According to SteamDB, MH Wilds has enjoyed significant success since its release, achieving over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam despite receiving mixed reviews. Capcom credits this success to their dedicated marketing efforts, which included showcasing the game at various international video game events and conducting an open beta test to give players a taste of what MH Wilds offers.

Latest Update Addressed Game-Breaking Bug

MH Wilds has taken steps to address critical bugs that were hampering player progress. On March 4, 2025, Monster Hunter's official support account, Monster Hunter Status, announced via Twitter (X) that the hot fix patch Ver.1.000.04.00 is now available across all platforms.

This update tackles several issues, including the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features not unlocking even when criteria are met, the inability to access the Monster Field Guide, and a game-breaking bug that was blocking story progression in Chapter 5-2 "A World Turned Upside Down," among others. Players are required to update the game to continue playing online.

However, not all bugs have been resolved with this patch. Issues such as network errors when firing an SOS flare after a quest starts, and Palico’s blunt weapon attacks not inflicting stun and exhaust damages, remain. Capcom plans to address these multiplayer-related bugs in a forthcoming patch.
