"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"

by Savannah May 14,2025

The highly anticipated sequel, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This latest postponement, though smaller in scope, follows a series of schedule adjustments over the years. The news was quietly shared in a recent update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While the game was previously slated for release in the first half of the year, the new timeline comes with the assurance that the core development is complete.

“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”

While the delay adds another chapter to the long list of setbacks fans have faced, the brief update video does bring some positive news. The Chinese Room has enhanced the game with additional content, deeper narrative, and further character development since the last major update. Notably, the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should brace for less frequent updates moving forward, as indicated by a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

For those familiar with the project, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has experienced a tumultuous development journey. Announced in 2019 by Hardsuit Labs with an initial release target of Q1 2020, the game faced its first delay to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit in March 2021. The development baton was then passed to The Chinese Room in 2023, with a new target of 2024, before this latest delay to October 2025.

With the game's release date now set for this fall, there remains uncertainty about whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally satisfy fans' long-held expectations. However, The Chinese Room seems optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, a different team will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
