If you're delving into the world of Monster Hunter Wilds, you might be intrigued by the challenge of unlocking the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement. This unique accolade requires capturing one of the game's smallest and most elusive creatures, the Sandstar, found exclusively in the Windward Plains at night.

To embark on this quest, you'll need to wait until nightfall. Since the Windward Plains are typically explored during the day in the main storyline, you'll need to manipulate time to your advantage. You can achieve this through two methods:
Fast Travel: Early in the game, once you unlock various fast travel points in the Windward Plains, you can use your interactive map to zip between these points. This action will advance the time until you reach nightfall.
Rest: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, you can rest at a base or pop-up camp. Use your Guild Points to select the time of day (Morning, Daytime, Evening, or Nighttime) and the desired environmental conditions (No Change, Fallow, Plenty, or Inclemency).

Once it's night, head to the area between Area 11 and Area 13 in the Windward Plains. Here, you'll find the Sandstar, a small desert mouse-like creature with shimmering fur. Be prepared for a chase, as the Sandstar is quick. To increase your chances of success, gather Screamer Pods from Baunos, small red-winged monsters found in the same areas. These pods can stun the Sandstar, making it easier to capture.
When you spot the Sandstar, chase it at full speed and use a Screamer Pod to stun it. Immediately switch to your Capture Net (used for fishing) and throw it at the stunned Sandstar. Successfully capturing the Sandstar will unlock the 'I Caught a Shooting Star!' trophy/achievement and reward you with the Ribbon Dream: Amber nameplate for your Hunter Profile.
