Stardew Valley Creator Gives Update on Upcoming Switch Patch

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is actively working on resolving issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The anticipated Nintendo Switch patch will be released "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been fixed on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch is still in development.

Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has recently announced via social media that a patch for the Nintendo Switch version, which will address the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues, is on its way. Stardew Valley has encountered various bugs and glitches that ConcernedApe has already resolved on PC, mobile, and Xbox. However, the update for the Switch version is still being developed.

Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has evolved through numerous updates, captivating players with its unique gameplay and charming pixel art. The game's soothing and engaging mechanics have kept it popular and relevant. ConcernedApe has consistently updated the game, not only adding new content but also tackling bugs and issues reported by the community. A significant update in December aimed to resolve a persistent problem, and this patch is now close to being released on the Switch.

ConcernedApe used Twitter to update fans, stating that the patch for the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues is "still coming." While a specific release date for the Switch hasn't been announced, the developer promises it will be available as soon as possible. After the release of update 1.6, players identified several issues, which have since been fixed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Approximately 20 days after an earlier announcement around Christmas, the Switch patch seems to be nearing completion.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Stardew Valley's major update 1.6, released for PC in March, introduced a wealth of new content, including personalized NPC dialogues, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals and events. The update also enhanced visuals with additions like waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map variations.

Despite resolving many gameplay issues, update 1.6 inadvertently introduced new problems. The console and mobile versions received the update in November, but players soon encountered significant game-breaking bugs. An emergency patch was deployed for the mobile version on November 15, while work continued on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe’s transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. Although the patch for the Switch version fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues isn't available yet, players can be confident that the developer is diligently working to release it soon.
