The previous generation, the Sony XM4, was already exceptional, but the XM5 introduces crucial enhancements in noise cancellation and comfort. It boasts a second processor and twice the number of microphones dedicated to filtering out ambient noise. The redesigned earcups fit more snugly, creating a better seal and, consequently, more effective passive noise isolation. The noise-canceling performance is markedly superior to the XM4 and most other noise-canceling headsets within its price range.
The Sony WH-1000XM5 also features a sleeker redesign with a new headband adjustment style.
