Silksong Still Coming To Switch 1
Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1
Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current-gen console and launch directly on the next-gen. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and the original Nintendo Switch, Silksong later expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox console releases.
To address these concerns, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) on April 8 to clarify the game's platform availability. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released for both the original Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.
While there are no specific details yet on how the versions might differ, players can anticipate that the game will benefit from higher resolutions and enhanced features on the Switch 2.
New Silksong Images Revealed
Following the Switch 2 Direct, new images of Silksong were unveiled on Nintendo Japan's official website. These images showcase familiar locations but with noticeable graphical enhancements since their initial reveal in 2019.
Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped approach on most aspects of the game, Silksong's appearance in the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images hint at a potential announcement for a release date in the near future. Recent updates to Silksong's Steam Metadata have further fueled fans' anticipation for a 2023 release.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated to launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Based on the information from the Switch 2 Direct, fans can expect the game to hit the shelves sometime this year.
