The beloved anime character Shin Chan embarks on a new adventure in Shin Chan: Shiro & the Coal Town, now available on Android via the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Initially launched in Japan for the Nintendo Switch in February 2024, the game expanded worldwide on Switch and PC by October 2024, and it has now made its way to mobile devices.
Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town Is a Mysterious Anime Adventure
The story begins with the Nohara family moving to a tranquil village in Akita Prefecture due to Hiroshi's new job near his hometown. They settle into a traditional Japanese farmhouse, embracing the serene countryside lifestyle. Shinnosuke, also known as Shin Chan, dives into rural life, spending his days fishing in Akita's rivers, catching bugs in the groves, and learning farming techniques from his grandmother.
The plot thickens when the family dog, Shiro, returns home covered in soot and dashes off. Shin Chan follows Shiro and stumbles upon a mysterious train, leading him to the enigmatic Coal Town after an unintended journey.
Coal Town Feels Like It’s Been Frozen Since the Showa Era
Coal Town exudes a retro charm reminiscent of the Showa era, with bustling workers, vintage aesthetics, and a variety of new activities. The town features a children's park, a diner, shops, restaurants, and an apartment block, some of which you can interact with while others serve as atmospheric backdrops.
Here, Shin Chan meets Yuri, a young inventor seeking assistance in gathering materials for her innovative projects aimed at improving the lives of the town's residents. However, her older brother Chuck introduces a 'waste-free' system that disrupts the town's harmony. Players must help Yuri thwart Chuck's plans and restore balance to Coal Town.
If you've grown up enjoying Shin Chan and have a Crunchyroll Vault subscription, don't miss out on experiencing Shin Chan: Shiro & Coal Town on the Google Play Store.
