Square Enix has released SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered on mobile and other platforms, bringing back a classic from the PlayStation era. Originally launched in 1999 in Japan and in 2000 in North America and Europe, this remastered version enhances the experience with upgraded visuals and additional content.
SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered Is Now Available on Android
SaGa Frontier 2 unfolds in the mystical world of Sandail, where magic is powered by a mysterious force known as Anima. The narrative centers around two main characters: Gustave, a royal with no magical talent, and William Knights, a young adventurer from a family dedicated to uncovering ancient relics known as Quells.
Gustave's journey begins when he is ostracized from the Kingdom of Finney for his inability to harness Anima, a pivotal aspect of their society. On the other hand, William, or Wil, embarks on a quest to solve the enigma surrounding his parents' demise and a mind-altering relic called the Egg.
The remastered version boasts enhanced graphics, with high-resolution watercolour backgrounds that are now strikingly vivid. The user interface has also been revamped to improve navigation while preserving the game's classic aesthetic.

What Else Is New?
In addition to visual enhancements, SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered introduces new storylines that seamlessly integrate with the original plot. The combat system remains a highlight, featuring three distinct types of battles: Party Battles, Duels, and Warfare. Party Battles follow the traditional RPG format, while Duels are intense one-on-one confrontations where strategic moves are crucial.
Warfare, on the other hand, involves large-scale strategic engagements, ensuring that combat remains dynamic and engaging. The remaster also reintroduces the glimmer system, allowing players to learn new techniques during combat, and the combo mechanic, which rewards players for executing coordinated attacks with their team.
