Pokémon NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade Hits USJ
Use ‘Water Gun’ in Real Life
The Pokémon Company and Universal Studios Japan are elevating their successful partnership with the introduction of the NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade. This new iteration builds on the original NO LIMIT! Parade by incorporating a refreshing water-focused theme, designed to enhance the summer fun.
The collaboration, which began in 2021, aims to foster a "creative alliance" dedicated to developing innovative and interactive entertainment. The NO LIMIT! Parade marked the first significant outcome of this partnership, featuring floats of iconic Pokémon characters like Charizard and Pikachu parading through the park. This year, the parade transforms into a fully immersive water experience.
According to The Pokémon Company's website, they have gone to great lengths to ensure the featured Pokémon are as "true-to-life" as possible. For instance, Gyarados makes its debut at USJ, with three performers synchronizing their movements to mimic a dragon dance, capturing the Pokémon's fierce nature.
The parade promises to drench guests with water not only from Pokémon but also from beloved characters from Super Mario, Despicable Me, Sesame Street, Peanuts, and Sing.
Guests are not just passive observers; they are encouraged to actively participate in the fun. On hot days, they can enter the "360° Soak Zone," where they can engage in a playful water battle with family, friends, and parade performers. While personal water guns are not allowed, guests receive a complimentary Water Shooter upon entering this special zone.
Beyond the parade, visitors can further immerse themselves in the Pokémon universe with exclusive merchandise and themed food offerings. A highlight on the menu is the "Gyarados Whirling Smoothie – Soda & Pineapple," served in cups featuring the park's largest sleeve ever, adorned with a bold and powerful depiction of Gyarados.
Additionally, the theme park offers a variety of food and drinks tailored for the summer season.
The parade commenced on July 3 and will continue until September 1. The 360° Soak Zone, however, is available only until August 22. Whether it's your first visit or a return trip, The Pokémon Company guarantees that "every visit will be amazingly exciting, deeply moving, and always memorable."
