According to Deadline, T.S. Nowlin ( Maze Runner, Project Adam) has joined to write the screenplay. Derek Kolstad's involvement, while previously confirmed, is currently unconfirmed. Adding further weight to the production, Chad Stahelski ( John Wick franchise) and his company, 87Eleven Entertainment, will serve as executive producers. Stahelski is also attached to the Ghost of Tsushima film adaptation.

Sifu, released in 2022, achieved remarkable success, selling over one million copies in its first three weeks. The game centers on a young martial artist's quest for revenge after their master's assassination. Utilizing a mystical pendant that allows resurrection at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist navigates a perilous path filled with danger and suspense.
