Everything We Know About Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta

The open beta offers three exciting components: Character Creation, the Story Trial, and the Doshaguma Hunt. Character customization in the beta mirrors that of the full release, allowing you to craft your hunter and Palico with all customizations transferring to the final game. Note that story progress will not carry over, so you can explore and hunt without any pressure.

In the Story Trial, you'll embark on the game's opening sequence, which includes a tutorial and a battle against Chatacabra, an early-game adversary. For those seeking a tougher challenge, the Doshaguma Hunt pits you against the alpha Doshaguma, a formidable leader of its herd roaming the Windward Plains. This quest supports multiplayer, so rally your friends or team up with NPC support hunters for the adventure.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ New Trailer Introduces the “Black Flame” and Oilwell Basin Locale

The "Black Flame" trailer introduces the Oilwell Basin, a dynamic and fiery locale dotted with oil wells that can unpredictably ignite. This region is home to new monsters adapted to its harsh environment, including the Ajarakan, a fanged beast whose shell heats up when it rubs against itself, and the Brute Wyvern Rompopolo, which lurks in the oil slits.

The trailer's namesake, the Black Flame, is the apex predator of the Oilwell Basin. This mysterious monster, resembling a giant squid, is feared by the people of Azuz, the Everforge.
