Monster Hunter Now Is Testing Out a New Monster Outbreaks Feature

Monster Hunter Now is buzzing with excitement as Niantic introduces an experimental feature called Monster Outbreaks. This new concept is currently under testing to gather player feedback and refine it into a polished feature.

When Are the Monster Outbreaks Being Tested in Monster Hunter Now?

The trial period spans from April 26th to April 27th, with events running twice daily on both days. Each session lasts one hour, occurring from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., according to local time zones.

During these events, specific outbreak locations on the map will suddenly host swarms of 8-star Black Diablos. Players must collaborate with others to defeat 100 of these creatures within the same outbreak zone during the designated hour—not collectively worldwide, but specifically at that location.

To join the fray, players must have a Hunter Rank (HR) of 11 or higher. Additionally, only in-person groups count; the party system cannot be used for this activity.

Outbreak zones are highlighted on the map with distinctive icons. Tapping on these icons reveals detailed information about the event. A signup roster has been added at each location, allowing participants to coordinate their efforts.

Black Diablos Has Arrived in Swarm Mode!

This event introduces an intriguing mechanic where every monster defeated contributes to the cumulative kill count based on the size of the hunting party. For instance, if four hunters bring down one Black Diablo, it counts as four kills toward the 100-target objective.

Should the target be met before the timer expires, players can continue hunting throughout the remaining duration. During this period, only Black Diablos will appear.

Rewards await successful teams that achieve the 100-monster milestone. These include 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Those who utilize the signup roster stand to receive a special "Outbreak Test I" medal.
