LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

by Chloe May 21,2025

LEGO has announced the launch of nine exciting new Star Wars sets, all set to hit the shelves on May 1, 2025, in perfect alignment with Disney's May the 4th celebrations. LEGO traditionally marks this occasion with the release of an Ultimate Collector Series Starship. Following the Luke's X-Wing Starfighter in 2023 and the TIE Interceptor in 2024, this year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, previously known as Slave I. The name change to Firespray, initiated in 2021 at Disney's request (confirmed by LEGO), reflects a continued sensitivity to certain terminology, and it appears this adjustment is permanent.

The last large-scale model of this iconic starship was released in 2019 to commemorate its 20th anniversary, featuring 1007 pieces and based on its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new iteration, boasting 2970 pieces, showcases the ship as it appeared in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This latest model is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring an impressive 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
