*Indiana Jones and the Great Circle* is brimming with cinematic puzzles that will thrill any adventurer. Here’s your comprehensive guide to tackling the intriguing Fountain of Confession puzzle, nestled within the Vatican section of the game, and unraveling the mystery of the giants.
How To Solve the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Fresh from cracking the Sacred Wounds puzzle and navigating the Underground beneath the Vatican, Indiana Jones takes a crucial scroll from the Giant’s tomb, leading him to the next challenge—the Fountain of Confession. As you progress, don't forget to snap photos of every sign, statue, and mural to accumulate Adventure Points, which can later be spent on enhancing your skills.
Begin by exiting Antonio’s office, just as you did at the start of the Sacred Wounds mission. Use the map in your journal to follow the waypoints until you reach a set of stairs in the outside courtyard, leading directly to the Fountain of Confession, where your puzzle-solving journey begins.
Your first task is to head to the chest on the right side of the fountain, near the construction area. Inside, you'll find the fountain key, which unlocks the storage room adjacent to the fountain.
Once inside the storage room, employ Indy's whip to ascend to the building's top. Then, swing across to a window that leads back outside to the fountain's summit. Here, you'll encounter two dragon statues, both facing forward. Start by swinging to the second dragon statue and grab the protruding dragon claw to activate a lever.
Use the lever to maneuver the dragon statue so it faces its counterpart across the fountain. After positioning the first dragon correctly, swing back to the other dragon, only to discover its claw is missing. Look down to the scaffolding on the left where you'll spot the detached claw. As you rappel down to retrieve it, Gina Lombardi interrupts, leading to a cutscene where you fall. After the scene, pick up the dragon claw and return to the statue.
Reattach the claw to the second dragon and adjust its position to face the other dragon. This action will cause the ground-floor Fountain of Confession statue to rotate towards the wall. With the dragon statues aligned, rappel back down to continue the puzzle.
Back at the fountain, use Indy's whip to pull the statue, which triggers the wall in front of the Fountain of Confession to shift, unveiling a gate flanked by three statues: an Angel on the left, a man on the right, and a smaller statue in the center.
The goal now is to solve the wall puzzles on either side of the statues guarding the gate. Start by activating the lever that appears on the fountain after the gate is revealed. Indy and Gina will work together to push it, revealing the first wall puzzle depicting a baptism. Take photos of the inscriptions on the pillars flanking the fountain for both Adventure Points and clues to solving the puzzle.

The first puzzle is straightforward. Position the larger male statue under the water bucket, then use your whip to activate the water mechanism, filling the bucket. Next, push the statue towards the smaller statue to simulate a baptism, which will move the statue on the left side of the gate away, completing the first half of the puzzle.
After solving the first puzzle, push the lever again to unveil the second, more intricate wall puzzle. This requires maneuvering three distinct layers of a path to guide an angel figure from left to right. Use the handles on the top left and right of the wall to adjust the figure's path. Successfully guiding the angel to the right side will complete the second half of the puzzle.
With the second puzzle solved, the statue on the right side of the gate will move, and the door will unlock. To fully complete the puzzle, simply push the central statue through the gate, activating a spiral stairway and advancing you to the next section of the game.
And that's how you master the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle*.
