Free Fire, Garena's renowned mobile battle royale, is set to captivate global audiences again with a $1 million prize pool at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh. This event marks another milestone in the multi-year partnership between Free Fire and EWC, promising fans thrilling competitions in 2026 as well.
Scheduled from July 16th to 20th, the tournament will see 18 elite Free Fire squads from around the world battle it out. The competition kicks off with a group stage, dividing the teams into three groups of six. The top twelve teams will advance to the Point-Rush stage, leading into the Grand Final, where the champion will be determined using the match point format. Additionally, a $10,000 bonus awaits the tournament's MVP for their outstanding individual performance.
Last year's champions, Team Falcons, are returning to defend their title after an impressive victory in 2024, where they clinched the first Free Fire championship at the EWC. Despite a challenging start in the Point-Rush stage, they secured two crucial Booyahs in the finals, earning them the trophy and a spot at the World Series in Rio.
Qualifiers are already in full swing. The FFWS SEA event concludes on June 14th, sending eight teams to Riyadh. LATAM will contribute two teams by June 1st, Brazil four by June 22nd, and one team each will qualify from Pakistan, the FF MSC, and Bangladesh. Team Falcons automatically return as the defending champions.
