Have you experienced the award-winning MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? The game now offers an expanded free trial covering A Realm Reborn plus both Heavensward and Stormblood expansions - completely free up to level 70 with unlimited playtime. Don't own a gaming PC? No problem!
Good News for Nintendo Players
Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida recently shared exciting news with VGC at Gamescom. When asked about bringing the MMO to Nintendo Switch 2, he expressed optimism: "My goal is bringing Final Fantasy 14 to as many players as possible. We're actively working to make this happen and view the possibilities very positively."
Benefits for Current and New Players
Yoshida explained potential advantages for existing players who could alternate between PC play for intense raids and Switch 2 for more relaxing gathering activities. For newcomers, especially younger gamers, this could serve as their first MMO experience: "I'd be thrilled to introduce this genre to new players through Switch 2."
The producer revealed promising discussions with Nintendo, hinting at future announcements. While FFXIV currently thrives on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and mobile platforms, Nintendo systems historically lacked the technical capacity to support the massive online world - a limitation the Switch 2 may finally overcome.
Upcoming Monster Hunter Crossover
During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Square Enix announced an exciting Monster Hunter Wilds crossover coming this fall. However, accessing this special content requires completing the latest Dawntrail expansion - a significant time investment spanning hundreds of hours without using story skips.
