Cosmo Jarvis, who captivated audiences with his portrayal of English pilot John Blackthorne, has confirmed his return for Season 2. In addition to reprising his role, Jarvis will also step into a new position as co-executive producer, bringing his creative vision to the production team. Joining him is series lead Hiroyuki Sanada, who plays Lord Yoshii Toranaga — the strategic and resilient samurai lord at the heart of the narrative. Sanada previously signed on for Season 2 in May of last year, shortly after the show’s renewal was announced. Originally conceived as a limited series, *Shōgun* has now evolved into a multi-season saga. Sanada’s role has also expanded, and he will serve as an executive producer for the upcoming season.
