Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Open Next Month
Two Parts To Beta Testing
Mark your calendars, because the beta testing for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to roll out in two exciting phases. The early access beta kicks off on August 30th and runs through September 4th, exclusively for those who have pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or are subscribed to specific Game Pass plans. Following that, from September 6th to 9th, the beta will be open to all players, giving everyone a chance to experience the game before its official release.
Don't miss your chance to jump into the action of this beloved franchise! The full game is scheduled to launch on October 25, 2024, and will be available on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Plus, it will be accessible through Xbox Game Pass on day one!
New And Updated Mechanics
During the podcast, Treyarch’s associate director of design, Matt Scronce, revealed some thrilling updates for Black Ops 6. On launch, players will have access to 16 multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 versatile Strike maps playable in both 6v6 and 2v2 formats. The beloved Zombies mode makes a return with two fresh maps to explore.
One of the standout additions is the new ‘Omnimovement’ mechanic, which promises to revolutionize gameplay. Additionally, the traditional score streak system is making a comeback, reverting from the changes seen in Black Ops: Cold War. Scores will reset upon player elimination, adding a strategic layer to the game. Another exciting feature is the dedicated melee weapon slot, allowing players to carry a knife without sacrificing their secondary weapon—a change that Scronce and the Treyarch team are particularly enthusiastic about.
Stay tuned for more details as a full multiplayer reveal for Black Ops 6 is set to take place at the Call of Duty Next event on August 28.
