Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is set to launch Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the Digimon Card Game, on Android and iOS platforms. This free-to-play game, while not yet having a confirmed release date, promises an exciting new chapter for Digimon fans. The official announcement came during Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also shared updates about other projects, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025. They celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and announced new ventures such as Digimon Adventure: Beyond and an RPG titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, set to release on consoles and PC.

If You Play Digimon Card Game, Alysion Isn’t the Same

Digimon Alysion diverges from being a mere port of the physical card game by introducing 'DigiAly' cards, unique to this mobile version. Alongside these, Bandai Namco is enriching the game with new Digimon and characters. Notably, the game features an all-female cast, a bold move that has sparked both curiosity and skepticism among fans. Some enthusiasts were hoping for a more faithful adaptation of the tabletop game, and this departure has raised eyebrows, especially considering Bandai Namco's previous unsuccessful attempts at Digimon mobile games. Despite these concerns, anticipation remains high, with a closed beta test on the horizon, though specifics remain undisclosed.
