Wizards of the Coast showcased their Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover at MagicCon Las Vegas 2025, offering a first look at the stunning artwork and gameplay mechanics for the Avatar Aang and Aang, Master of Elements cards.
The debut of Aang in the MTG universe was accompanied by a captivating time-lapse video demonstrating how artists created these meticulously hand-drawn illustrations. The first revealed card, Avatar Aang, appears as a Legendary Creature – Human Avatar Ally with an intriguing ability: "Whenever you waterbend, earthbend, firebend, or airbend, draw a card. Then if you've performed all four bending types this turn, transform Avatar Aang."

The second card, Aang, Master of Elements, presents the young hero in a cosmic-themed Legendary Creature – Avatar Ally format. While Avatar Aang depicts him in his formidable Avatar state, this alternate version captures Aang harnessing his powers differently. His card reads: "At the beginning of each upkeep, you may transform Aang, Master of Elements. If you do, you gain 4 life, draw four cards, put four +1/+1 counters on him, and he deals 4 damage to each opponent."
Players can expect more detailed reveals about this Magic: The Gathering and Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration on August 12, 2025, with the complete set launching worldwide on November 21, 2025.
