A fresh trailer for 'Alien: Earth' has surfaced online, giving enthusiasts their most detailed preview of the forthcoming TV show.
The preview, shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account below, initially debuted at Disney's 2025 Annual Shareholder Meeting. It depicts the desperate survivors aboard a spaceship ravaged by a Xenomorph, now on a collision course with Earth.

The trailer introduces a new Xenomorph design, but its most remarkable feature is how closely the aesthetic echoes Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 horror classic. The sequence unfolds within a MU/TH/UR control room that appears almost identical to the Nostromo's. It was there, of course, that Ripley uncovered the full horror of the crew's predicament.
In the 'Alien: Earth' trailer, a frantic crew member pounds on a sealed door, pleading for help as the Xenomorph closes in. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, appears indifferent to her distress, reporting that "specimens are loose," declaring the crew deceased, and setting the ship's trajectory to impact Earth. We then see six soldiers advancing toward an unknown target, likely the crashed vessel. I suspect their mission will not end well.
The preview raises numerous questions. Does Morrow survive? What were his (or its?) motivations? Did any other crew members make it? Was anyone left impregnated by the Xenomorph? And how exactly do those soldiers meet their inevitable demise?
This establishes the premise of 'Alien: Earth,' where a mysterious spacecraft (the one seen in the trailer) crashes on Earth, leading a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag team of tactical soldiers to make "a fateful discovery that brings them face-to-face with the planet's ultimate threat."
FX’s Alien series takes place in 2120, well after the events of Prometheus and just two years before the original Alien and the Nostromo's doomed voyage. This timeline placement has led fans to speculate that 'Alien: Earth' might depict the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how the sinister Weyland-Yutani corporation first learned of the Xenomorphs. For reference, the recent interquel Alien: Romulus is set between Alien and Aliens.
In January of last year, showrunner Noah Hawley explained his decision not to incorporate the Prometheus backstory into Alien: Earth, stating his preference for the original films' "retro-futurism." Hawley mentioned discussing "many, many elements" of the Alien series with Ridley Scott, including connections to the prequels, but ultimately chose to distance the show from the bioweapon narrative in favor of the original film's mythology.
FX's Alien: Earth arrives on Hulu in summer 2025. Alien: Romulus 2 is also in development.
