Paramount Pictures has made significant adjustments to its movie release schedule, pushing back the release dates for two highly anticipated Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These delays mean fans will have to wait several months longer than initially planned to see these movies.
According to Variety, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has been rescheduled from its original January 30, 2026, release date to October 9, 2026. This marks a delay of nearly nine months and represents the second postponement for the film, which was initially set to premiere on October 10, 2025. Paramount has unveiled a new logo for the movie, which you can view below.
No specific reason was given for the delay, but it is confirmed that voice actors Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam will continue to be part of the project. The film will focus on the original Avatar protagonist, Aang, and is set many years after the conclusion of the beloved series. It received its official title at last month's CinemaCon and is the first of three planned movies set in this universe.
The sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, announced shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023, has also been delayed. Originally set for October 9, 2026, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 will now hit theaters on September 17, 2027, extending the wait by nearly a year. This delay leaves fans eager to see the continuation of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's adventures, especially after the tantalizing mid-credits scene in the first movie. While plot and cast details remain undisclosed, the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series offers some interim entertainment.
