Take-Two Discloses GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Sales Figures

Despite being over a decade old, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) continues to captivate gamers worldwide, selling an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone. Since its debut in September 2013, GTA 5 has cemented its status as one of the best-selling video games of all time. Its enduring appeal is largely fueled by its dynamic multiplayer component, GTA Online, which remains a significant driver of the game's success. Take-Two Interactive keeps the community engaged with regular updates, including the highly anticipated Agents of Sabotage released in December 2024.

Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) is seeing a resurgence in sales, having reached a total of 70 million copies sold, with an increase of 3 million units in the last quarter. Launched in October 2018, RDR2 continues to attract new players and maintain its position as a top-selling title.

Looking ahead, the gaming community is buzzing with excitement for upcoming releases. Take-Two has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is slated for a fall 2025 release. Fans eagerly awaiting this sequel can rest assured that, despite potential delays, the game remains on track according to Take-Two's latest financial presentation. Additionally, Mafia: The Old Country is set to hit the shelves in the summer, while Borderlands 4 is expected later in the year, though specific release dates for the latter have yet to be disclosed.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, emphasized the company's meticulous approach to game development, noting that, "Rockstar is taking a careful approach to the development process, which may require additional time, as was the case with the company's previous projects—such as GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2." This statement underscores the commitment to quality that fans have come to expect from Rockstar Games.
