Heads up: music streaming giant Spotify appears to be experiencing widespread outages this morning. According to Downdetector, a sister site of IGN, reports of Spotify outages started pouring in around 6 a.m. PT and have continued throughout the day. Our team at IGN also faced difficulties accessing the service, and when we managed to open the app, it failed to play any music.
Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working to resolve it. The company took to their Spotify Status X account to clarify that the outage is not related to a security hack, dispelling any rumors. Here's what they said:
We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
