The boys are back in town — and by the boys, we mean Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman. South Park is gearing up for the much-anticipated Season 27, where our favorite Colorado crew will once again tackle the world's absurdities with their signature irreverent humor.
The beloved animated series cleverly unveiled a trailer that initially tricked viewers into expecting a dramatic new show. The trailer's intense editing and suspenseful music set an ominous tone, only to be hilariously broken by a familiar scene. Randy, Stan's dad, and his sister Shelley appear, with Randy casually asking if Shelley has been taking drugs, suggesting it might help her, all while sitting in front of a Wicked movie poster.
After the gag, the trailer shifts back to high-stakes action, hinting at several major plot points for the new season. Expect to see plane crashes, the iconic Statue of Liberty being toppled, a cameo by P. Diddy, and what seems to be yet another conflict with Canada — a recurring theme for fans familiar with the show and the 1999 movie South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut.
Mark your calendars: South Park Season 27 is set to premiere on July 9, 2025, on Comedy Central. This comes more than two years after the conclusion of Season 26, during which time the series released three specials: 2023’s South Park: Joining the Panderverse and South Park (Not Suitable For Children), followed by 2024’s South Park: The End of Obesity.
South Park, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, has been a staple of Comedy Central since its debut in 1997, consistently drawing acclaim for its sharp social commentary and fearless approach to satire.
