The Sony Bravia XR X93L was launched in March 2023 and positioned as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup at that time, just below the X95L, which was exclusively available in an 85" screen size in the United States. The X93L features Mini LED technology, which is renowned for its superior performance in handling HDR content. Mini LED technology uses an array of smaller and more numerous LEDs that can independently turn on and off, significantly enhancing black levels and contrast ratio compared to standard LED-backlit panels.
This TV is also an excellent choice for gamers. It is equipped with four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1 specifications. HDMI 2.1 allows for 4K output at up to 120Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for the latest gaming consoles such as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, the new Switch 2, when docked, will be limited to 60fps in 4K, so HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary for that system.
