Capcom has rolled out Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 for all platforms, delivering crucial improvements and fixes that enhance the gaming experience. While the patch addresses several progression blockers and bugs, players should note that it does not include performance enhancements, as detailed in the patch notes below.
Despite its stellar launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, largely due to ongoing performance issues on PC. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an impressive 8 million copies within just three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling game to date. On Steam, it achieved the fifth highest concurrent player count ever, peaking at 1,384,608 players, surpassing notable titles like Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring. For comparison, Monster Hunter: World reached a peak of 334,684 players.
Looking ahead, a title update slated for early April promises to introduce a new endgame area for resource gathering and additional monster hunting challenges.
For those embarking on their Monster Hunter Wilds journey, useful resources include guides on undisclosed game features, an overview of all 14 weapon types, a comprehensive walkthrough, tips on multiplayer gameplay, and instructions for transferring your beta character to the full game.
IGN awarded Monster Hunter Wilds an 8/10 in their review, praising the game for refining the series' core mechanics while noting a lack of challenge in its encounters.
