Despite its release over a decade ago, Metro 2033 remains a beloved entry in the series, seeing a resurgence in popularity thanks to the VR-exclusive Metro Awakening. As the starting point for Artyom's journey, the game primarily unfolds in Moscow's underground tunnels. The Cursed Station, known as Turgenevskaya in both the books and real life, introduces players to the first anomalies. Following this, Artyom and Khan embark on a challenging mission to aid a group of survivors against persistent nosalis attacks.
This mission often poses challenges for players due to unclear instructions and a confusing station layout. After witnessing an anomaly decimate a nosalis horde in the previous mission, Khan moves to the next station via railcar, marking the beginning of "Cursed." Upon disembarking, follow Khan through the tunnel and around the corner to join the defenders at the barricaded escalators.
Where To Find The Bomb
Upon conversing with the defenders, you'll learn that an explosives crew ventured down the tunnel earlier to collapse it and halt the nosalis advance. However, the crew is missing, and no explosion has occurred. Your task is to locate the bomb and set it off. Be prepared for continuous nosalis attacks throughout the mission. As Khan advises, retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed; you'll likely need to do this at least once during your search.
The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid moving past the ghostly shadows directly ahead, as this will harm you. Once you've retrieved the bomb, either proceed directly into the adjacent tunnel or fall back to the defenders if the enemy onslaught becomes too intense.
How To Destroy The Tunnel
With the bomb in hand, head deep into the left-hand tunnel (left from the defenders' viewpoint) to trigger a cutscene where Artyom will automatically set the bomb and ignite the fuse. You must then escape the blast zone swiftly to avoid being killed by the explosion. Alternatively, you can throw a grenade or pipe bomb into the same area to collapse the tunnel. Remember, even with the main tunnel destroyed, nosalises will continue to find other ways into the station, so remain vigilant and keep your weapon ready.

How To Destroy The Airlock
After destroying the left-hand tunnel, your next task is to secure the station further by collapsing the airlock mentioned during the initial discussion with the defenders. To locate this area, ascend the stairs on the right side of the main platform to a spot illuminated by torchlight. You'll encounter several nosalises here, but you can bypass them.
To demolish the airlock, approach the support columns and interact with them. Artyom will place a pipe bomb with a lit fuse. Just as with the tunnel, evacuate the area quickly to avoid the imminent explosion. With both entrances now destroyed, follow Khan to the next phase of the mission in a small shrine room. After a brief conversation with Khan, Artyom will descend through a floor panel, leading to the next mission, "Armory."
