Today's reveal also highlights some exciting features of the set, such as the introduction of Summons. These are Magic's first-ever Saga creatures, allowing players to summon powerful allies during battle, as demonstrated by Summon: Shiva in the gallery. Additionally, the set brings back double-faced cards, exemplified by Cecil's dual sides: Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.
The Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards, with 55 of these being legendary borderless cards. Some of these cards are illustrated by beloved artists from throughout Final Fantasy's storied history, adding an extra layer of nostalgia and appeal.
Set to launch on June 13, the Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy set is designed to be fully draftable and Standard-legal. It will be accompanied by four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed around a different Final Fantasy game: 6, 7, 10, and 14. These decks will feature a blend of new Final Fantasy cards and existing cards with fresh Final Fantasy art, ensuring a unique and immersive experience for players.
