Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind Rockstar hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his latest project, MindsEye. The game recently showcased a fresh look during the PlayStation State of Play, sparking excitement among fans.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye offers a glimpse into this high-tech spy thriller, drawing noticeable parallels to the Grand Theft Auto series. Featuring third-person gunplay, high-end cinematics, and thrilling drive-and-gun sequences, the trailer captures the essence of what fans can expect. You can watch the cinematic trailer below.
According to an official press release, MindsEye centers around the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who possesses a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has fragmented his memory, resulting in disjointed flashbacks of his military past. Driven by a quest to uncover the truth about his history, Diaz embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, MindsEye is poised to be a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies is also set to launch the Everywhere platform, which we described as a "big-budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.
Although the new trailer did not mention Everywhere, MindsEye alone promises to be an exhilarating addition to the action game genre, crafted by one of its most prominent figures. Fans can anticipate the release of MindsEye in the summer of 2025.
