Google-Friendly Marvel Rivals: Shader Compilation Optimization

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to expedite this process.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game launches, particularly online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals PC players report significant delays (several minutes) during shader compilation. Shaders are crucial programs managing aspects like color and lighting in 3D environments. While the game may be installed correctly, this issue persists. Fortunately, a community-based solution exists.

A Marvel Rivals subreddit user, Recent-Smile-4946, provided a workaround that effectively resolves the slow compilation:

  1. Access your Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the global settings.
  3. Adjust the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. Note: Available options are limited to 5 GB, 10 GB, and 100 GB. Select the closest option to your VRAM capacity.

This method not only reduces shader compilation time to seconds but also eliminates "Out of VRAM memory" errors. While a permanent fix from NetEase is pending, this solution offers an immediate workaround to avoid lengthy loading times.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
