Final Phase of WoW Classic's Season of Discovery Arrives January 28
Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic will launch the seventh and final phase of Season of Discovery on January 28. This concluding update introduces the Karazhan Crypts dungeon and Scourge Invasions event, with the legendary Naxxramas raid unlocking on February 6 for guild challenges.
Key Features of Phase 7
- Launching January 28 after maintenance
- New Karazhan Crypts 5-player dungeon
- Expanded Scourge Invasion event
- Naxxramas raid opens February 6
- New runes and "Empower" difficulty options
This final content phase arrives just two months after Phase 6 transported players to Silithus for the Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline and Ahn'qiraj raids. Players had spotted mysterious Shadowy Figures throughout desert ruins during that phase, though their purpose remains unclear heading into this finale.
What to Expect in Phase 7
Following server maintenance, adventurers can explore Karazhan Crypts beneath the tower that later housed Burning Crusade's raid. The Scourge Invasion event will bring waves of undead assaults across Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, with new quests available at Light's Hope Chapel. Players can collect Necrotic Runes from undead foes to exchange for powerful consumables.
Rune Brokers in capital cities will offer fresh abilities when the phase launches. The much-anticipated Naxxramas raid opens February 6 with standard and "Empower" difficulty options. Clearing all four wings grants access to the Frostwyrm Lair confrontation against Sapphiron and Kel'thuzad.
While Season of Discovery concludes with this update, World of Warcraft Classic maintains an active development roadmap. Players await announcements regarding future seasonal content as Blizzard continues supporting multiple Classic variants throughout 2025.
