Your journey begins with Casper Rudolf, who initiates "In Vino Veritas." You'll find him by his drink cart on the east side of Kuttenberg City. Just head through the east gate and continue straight to bump into him. Casper is keen to uncover the secret behind the monks' superior wine, but first, you'll need to navigate a series of tasks. Engage in thorough dialogue with him to gather information about Havel and a crucial book he left with Adleta. This knowledge will guide your approach in the initial phase, which involves impressing Havel.
To retrieve the book from Adleta, head to the southeast corner of Kuttenberg's inner wall in the morning or afternoon. You'll find an open garden where Adleta often spends her time. Before you go, pick five Marigolds. Try to meet Adleta before her brother Hugo arrives, or if Hugo is already there, obtain his permission to speak with her. During your conversation, maintain a friendly demeanor and express your need for the book on Casper's behalf. You can attempt a skill check to persuade her or offer the Marigolds as a gift to secure the book. Once you have it, take a moment to read it from your inventory.
Alternatively, if you choose to skip the book retrieval, proceed directly to Havel, who runs an inn in Kuttenberg City. Prepare by enhancing your drinking skills and wearing an outfit that boosts your Charisma to at least 18. Engage Havel in conversation at the inn, selecting these dialogue options:
- Germany. Let’s do it.
- That’s a very fine gift.
- Steinberger.
- It’s missing ginger.
These choices will impress Havel, leading him to reveal the monastery's secret ingredient. Return to Casper with this valuable information.

Next, head to the vineyard north of Kuttenberg and speak with the recruiter to start the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest. Although completing this quest isn't necessary, initiating it grants you the freedom to explore the vineyard without being labeled a trespasser. Inside, locate Jerome, typically found on a bench near the main building.

Once inside the main building, stealthily move left to the storeroom and use your lockpicking skills to open the chests. Inside, you'll find the Sulphur Wicks needed for Casper. For some extra Groschen, visit the garden behind the main building and collect five seedlings before leaving.
If you decide to complete "Under the Straw Hat," engage in tasks such as removing plants around the vines and moving sacks. Once you've done enough, report back to Jerome to finish the side quest and earn some Groschen. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and any seedlings you've gathered.
Completing "In Vino Veritas" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 opens the door to further adventures or perhaps spending time on collecting badges and dice.
