Starting today, Dell is offering the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, equipped with the new GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, for just $2,399.99 shipped. This price represents one of the best deals currently available for an RTX 5080-equipped prebuilt system, especially as other brands have been steadily increasing their prices since the RTX 50 series launch in January. At Dell, the only other prebuilt PC with an RTX 5080 GPU is priced over $4,000. If you're considering building your own DIY PC, good luck finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU—you'll likely spend as much on the GPU alone as you would on this entire system.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The current-generation Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU offers a max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. It's cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the entire system is powered by a 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.
The RTX 5080 is one of three new Blackwell graphics cards that are currently in high demand and difficult to find. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 may not be the best upgrade—it doesn't significantly outperform the RTX 4080, though the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance visuals in supported games. However, for gamers with older graphics cards looking for a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, especially if you're comfortable using Nvidia's AI features."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis design is similar to the 2024 R16 system but features minor aesthetic and cooling updates, along with refreshed internal components. The I/O panel is now positioned at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window spans the entire side panel. Air intakes are located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a less dusty interior. The system includes a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.
