The PC version of the game not only boasts significantly superior visuals compared to the PS5 version but also offers a more stable performance, sparking community discussions about the necessity for an update on Sony's console.
Currently, the PS5 version suffers from blurry visuals when set to performance mode, leaving owners of the base console with no choice but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has acknowledged that enhancements are feasible within the technical constraints of the platform.
"Following the release of the PC version's promotional material, we've been inundated with requests for a similar update for the PS5 version," Hamaguchi stated. "We're keen to make improvements within the limits of what's possible with the PS5's performance."
The gaming community is eagerly anticipating that Square Enix will heed these fan requests and enhance the console visuals.
While the team is diligently working on the sequel, Hamaguchi has urged fans to remain patient, promising that more information will be forthcoming. He reflected on 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy Rebirth, the second installment of the trilogy, which garnered global attention and numerous awards. As the developers look forward to the third installment of Final Fantasy VII, they face unique challenges in their mission to expand the game's fan base.
Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, showing support for the Rockstar Games team. He acknowledged the immense pressure they face following the phenomenal success of GTA V.
