March events are in full swing in *Pokemon GO*, and we're celebrating the shift of seasons with a thrilling event dedicated to bug-type Pokemon. The Bug Out event offers a prime opportunity to catch these fascinating creatures, complete with fantastic bonuses and new avatar items to enhance your gameplay experience.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* **starts on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30.** This gives you five days to hunt down those intriguing bug-type Pokemon, perfect for Shiny hunting enthusiasts as nearly all featured Pokemon have a Shiny form available in the game.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

According to the official page, you'll encounter more of the following bug-type Pokemon in the wild during the Bug Out event:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two exciting new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

Get ready for a variety of raids during the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event. Here are the Pokemon you can expect to encounter at raid gyms. Those marked with an asterisk have a Shiny variant:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*

Three-Star Raids

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO*:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will reward you with event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon. Additionally, Timed Research rewards include a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon, while Paid Timed Research rewards offer a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Remember, all research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event ends.

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event will feature Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon, rewarding you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon upon completion.
