The long-awaited details about the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally emerged, and the specs are more impressive than many had anticipated. The system supports up to 120fps and can achieve a stunning 4K resolution when docked, setting a new standard for portable gaming.
During the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased a variety of the system's features. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen, maintaining the same 13.9mm thickness as its predecessor but doubling the pixel count. It features a 1080p display in handheld mode, capable of reaching up to 120fps, and utilizes an LCD screen with HDR support. When docked, it can handle up to 4K resolution with HDR.The new Joy-Con 2 controllers attach via magnets and can be detached with a release button on the back. Enhancements include larger SL and SR buttons for improved horizontal play, and bigger left and right sticks for better control. Additionally, the Joy-Con 2 controllers now officially support mouse control.
The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also includes a more robust and adjustable stand compared to the original Switch, and a top USB port for external camera connectivity or charging in tabletop mode.
The system is packed with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
