Japan Expansion for Ticket to Ride: Build the Bullet Train Network!

Embark on a virtual journey across Japan with the latest expansion for Ticket to Ride, now available on digital platforms. Marmalade Game Studio and Asmodee Entertainment have released the Japan Expansion, bringing the beloved board game's Japan map to life in a new way.

Help Build the Train Network

For the first time, the Japan map from the physical game is accessible digitally, but with a twist. Instead of solely focusing on building your own train empire, you'll contribute to constructing a national Bullet Train network that benefits everyone. This expansion introduces a cooperative element, though with a strategic edge. You can choose to let others do the heavy lifting while you accumulate points, but beware—the game features a karma system. Neglect your Bullet Train responsibilities, and you'll lose 20 points when the final scores are tallied. So, even if you're plotting to outsmart your friends, you'll need to lend a helping hand.

The Japan Expansion also introduces two new characters: Nakanishi Kimiko, a travel blogger who enjoys the festival scene with her dog, and Moriyama Isamu, a gyōji or sumo referee. These characters add a rich layer of Japanese culture and personality to the game, going beyond just maps and trains.

Ticket to Ride Has Upgraded Trains with the Japan Expansion

Enhance your collection with the addition of two new trains and two carriages. The Ichi Eki Saki train and the Tsuki Sleeper carriage cater to your relaxed travel needs, while the Isogaba Maware train and the Hayai carriage offer speed and efficiency. As spring arrives, the Japan map's seasonal charm is sure to enhance your gaming experience. The Japan Expansion is available for download now, perfect for adding variety to your Ticket to Ride sessions. You can find the game on the Google Play Store.
