Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announces Hideaki Nishino as its sole CEO, effective April 1, 2025. This follows a press release revealing a broader leadership restructure within Sony Corporation.
The release confirms Hiroki Totoki's promotion to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, succeeding Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao also receives a promotion to Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This latest move consolidates SIE leadership under Nishino. Previously, Nishino and Hermen Hulst shared leadership following Jim Ryan's retirement, with Hulst heading PlayStation Studios and Nishino overseeing hardware and technology. Now, Nishino will lead all of SIE, including the platform business group, while Hulst retains his position at the head of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP, Platform Experience Group. In a statement, he expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences to expand the PlayStation community and its IP. He thanked Hermen Hulst for his continued leadership.
