Henry Cavill's 'Tremendous' Bond Audition Leaks Online

Recently, audition tapes from 2005 featuring Henry Cavill's take on James Bond have surfaced online, offering a glimpse into what could have been. These tapes, which were shared on the Ron South YouTube channel—an account run by a dedicated filmmaker with 1,890 subscribers—also included auditions by Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr. However, it's Henry Cavill's performance that has captured the most attention and admiration over the years.

Notably, Martin Campbell, the director of Casino Royale, praised Cavill's audition as "tremendous." In fact, Campbell favored Cavill for the iconic role of 007. Despite this, Cavill ultimately lost the part to Daniel Craig, as other decision-makers had different preferences.

While Cavill didn't land the role of James Bond, he did get to explore the spy genre in the film Argylle, where he starred alongside a talented cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O'Hara. Unfortunately, Argylle did not fare well with critics, receiving a disappointing 4/10 from IGN.

Despite this setback, Henry Cavill's career remains robust and varied. He has portrayed iconic characters such as Superman in the DC universe, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher, and has taken on numerous other roles, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
