Players will no longer be able to leave messages in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's approximately forty-minute session length. He stated that this timeframe doesn't allow sufficient opportunity for players to send or read messages. The messaging feature, therefore, has been disabled.
This decision is notable given FromSoftware's history of incorporating message-based interaction into their games, a feature often praised for enhancing player enjoyment and interactivity. However, the team determined this functionality wasn't suitable for Nightreign.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring narrative, Nightreign offers a separate adventure. While preserving the atmosphere and intricate design of the Elden Ring world, the game presents unique challenges and encounters.
