Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The 2016 pack brings back the familiar faces of Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. This pack is all about these characters, allowing you the flexibility to incorporate them into any scenario you desire. You're not restricted to specific crime scenes or case files, giving you the freedom to mix and match these nostalgic favorites with the newer 2023 cast as you see fit.
The fanbase of the 2016 version has been vocal about their desire to see these characters return, especially with the introduction of the more contemporary 2023 characters. It's heartening to see Marmalade Game Studio respond to the community's wishes with this exciting update.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is rolling out a new game mode called the Retro Rules Set. This mode, available for free, harks back to the original 1949 rules, offering a nostalgic twist to the gameplay. The Retro Rules Set introduces old-school mechanics that alter movement and accusation methods. For instance, tokens start at designated spots on the board, and Miss Scarlet always gets the first move, unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard steps in.
In this mode, accusations can only be made when you're in a room, and Clue Cards are omitted entirely. Additionally, you cannot move through squares occupied by other players, adding a strategic layer to the game.
