Camo Challenge Tracking in Black Ops 6: How It Works

by Allison Apr 27,2025

Season 2 of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* has officially launched, bringing with it an exciting new feature that simplifies the progression grind: the Camo Challenge Tracking system. This feature is a game-changer for players aiming to unlock those coveted camos and calling cards. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how it works and how to use it to your advantage.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Gives Simple Access to Camo Challenge Progress

The patch notes for the Season 2 update of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* highlight the newly introduced Camo Challenge Tracking feature, which is described as: “The Challenge Tracker makes it easy for players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges they’re actively working toward, but there’s another element of this system that we think players will find useful on the journey to Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter: Near Completion.”

This innovative system allows players to manually select 10 camos to keep an eye on, making it incredibly convenient to monitor their progress during gameplay, rather than having to navigate through menus. The tracker also sends notifications when you're close to completing challenges, even for those not currently selected for tracking, ensuring you never miss out on completing a near-finished task.

How To Track Camo and Calling Card Challenges in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 - Camo Challenge Tracking

To start tracking a specific challenge, navigate to the Camo or Calling Card challenge you're interested in. On an Xbox controller, press the Y button; on a PlayStation controller, press the Triangle button to add that challenge to your tracker. This way, you can monitor your progress in real-time during matches, without the need to exit and check post-game.

Even if you haven't manually selected a challenge, the game will automatically populate the tracker with challenges you're close to completing. This ensures you're always aware of what you're nearing, making it easier to focus your efforts. You can view these near-complete challenges in the *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* lobby under the Daily Challenge section, providing a clear overview of what you're about to unlock.

With the Season 2 update, unlocking special camos has become more achievable. Previously, players needed to unlock nine military camos before accessing a special camo. Now, the requirement has been reduced to just five military camos, though you still need to unlock two special camos to earn the prestigious mastery camos.

The extensive array of camos for each weapon and the challenge in tracking progress and earning necessary headshots and kills have been a topic of discussion among players. Treyarch has taken this feedback to heart, introducing more efficient ways to track, earn, and equip camos, enhancing the overall enjoyment of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
