Pocketpair's Palworld, with its captivating open-world exploration, has captivated players since its January 2024 release. The Feybreak DLC significantly expanded the game, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the enigmatic Dark Fragments. Essential for crafting high-tier accessories, these fragments are a valuable Feybreak-exclusive resource.
How to Obtain Dark Fragments in Palworld
To acquire Dark Fragments, hunt Dark-elemental Pals exclusively found on Feybreak Island. This doesn't apply to Dark-elemental Pals in other game areas. Feybreak's coastal Pals are mainly ground and water types; venture inland to locate Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some, like Starryon, are nocturnal unless they're boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments on average. Drops aren't guaranteed, but diligent hunting will provide sufficient quantities.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments. Boss and predator variants may inhabit open areas or dungeons:
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments may randomly appear on Feybreak. Thorough exploration is encouraged, though remember that frequent combat depletes ammo, which you may need for challenges like Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
Utilizing Dark Fragments in Palworld
Dark Fragments, though challenging to amass, aren't used in a vast array of recipes. They primarily craft specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots (dash and jump) for your character.
Dark Fragments are used to craft the following items. Unlock schematics in the Technology Menu (or Ancient Technology Menu) using Technology Points, and ensure you have the necessary machines and materials:
