NieR: Automata's opening introduces 2B's mission. After deploying and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword. The latter, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful weapon temporarily lost after the prologue. However, it's easily recoverable once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is located near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. To the left, you'll see a highway above the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb and reach the main road. This path leads back towards the factory.
Descend to the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. On the left, you'll find another access point with stairs leading upwards. In this upper area, locate the destroyed bridge where you fought the Goliath-class enemy. The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge, ready to be retrieved.
Your discarded equipment from the prologue, containing consumables, is located just to the right of the sword.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Lt 2 Hv 2
Typical of two-handed weapons, the Virtuous Treaty excels at wide-range attacks, inflicting significant damage on multiple enemies. Its attack speed is slower, however. Upgrades can potentially maximize its damage output, provided you adapt to its slower pace. Combining it with a faster weapon via heavy attacks during combos mitigates the slow attack speed while still leveraging its high damage potential. While this won't allow a full combo with the Treaty, it adds a powerful burst within a faster combo.
