Despite being somewhat overshadowed by other titles, Halo Infinite continues to captivate its player base with exciting content updates. The development team recently unveiled a new competitive game mode called S&D Extraction, which promises a fresh and strategically rich experience for players.
S&D Extraction takes inspiration from Valve's Counter-Strike but infuses it with unique Halo twists. This mode pits two teams of four players against each other: one team plays as attackers, tasked with planting a device on a designated point, while the other team defends. After each round, the teams switch roles, and the first team to win six rounds emerges victorious.
A standout feature of S&D Extraction is its comprehensive economic system. Players can use in-game currency earned through objectives to purchase equipment at the start of each round. The prices of these items are dynamic, fluctuating based on team performance, and all gear vanishes at the end of each round. The cost of items is strategically set according to their effectiveness and potential power within the round, with more powerful items commanding higher prices. Players can expect to find cheaper options in the early rounds, more expensive choices mid-game, and potentially even pricier gear towards the end if they manage their earnings wisely. Additionally, there's an option to pay for a respawn after being eliminated, adding another layer of strategy to the game.
S&D Extraction is slated for release in Halo Infinite in 2025, promising a dynamic and engaging competitive experience that will undoubtedly thrill fans of the franchise.
